At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai Vice President of Product Planning Olabisi Boyle announced major changes to the appearance of the large crossover, which will change generation around 2025. Details are still classified, but it will be different not only from the current model, but also from the new Santa Fe, the radical change in design of which not everyone liked.

According to Boyle, the second generation Hyundai Palisade will be taken “to a new level.” For now, we can only guess about the changes that the designers of the South Korean brand have in store, since the new flagship has not even been tested yet. It was previously reported that testing of prototypes will begin before the end of 2023. However, the premiere is still far away, since the Palisade was noticeably refreshed relatively recently – in the spring of 2022.

As for power plants, Boyle did not give specifics, but recalled a line that “closes the gap” between internal combustion engines and electric motors. These are “mild” and plug-in hybrid installations, as well as more efficient internal combustion engines. According to insiders, the Palisade will receive a gas-electric variant for the first time, which rhymes with Hyundai’s plans for electrification.

Boyle also commented on the design of the Santa Fe, which has caused a lot of controversy. The goal was to both satisfy current customers and attract new ones. The study showed that the public just likes more “angular” cars – this is what they made the fifth generation Santa Fe, which is compared to the Land Rover Defender.

It has not yet appeared in the USA and Europe, but in Russia it is already available: “parallel” Santa Fes in stock cost from 6.85 million rubles.
