So many luxury and premium cars have been towed from the streets of the capital for illegal parking since the beginning of 2023, the Moscow Department of Transport reported in its Telegram channel. Most often, drivers left their cars on sidewalks, near pedestrian crossings, under prohibitory signs, and also in places for the disabled. Other violations of stopping and parking rules were also recorded.

Most often, the Moscow Parking tow trucks sent Toyota cars to impound lots. Second and third places in terms of frequency of violations of parking and stopping rules were taken by Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Drivers of Aston Martin, Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce also often violated traffic rules.

“Such cars block the view of pedestrians, public transport and other road users and can cause accidents. We ask drivers to always leave their cars only in permitted places,” said the head of the Department of Transport, Maxim Liksutov.

Since October 15, the cost of forced evacuation has increased in the capital. It was recalculated taking into account rising costs: fuel prices, salaries and funds for maintaining equipment and the parking lots themselves. The first day of storing a car in an impound lot is, as before, free of charge.

Since the beginning of the year, Moscow drivers have replenished the city budget by 19 billion rubles – a billion more than a year earlier. They paid most of the money for unpaid parking.
