At the Comtrans-2023 exhibition, a city bus made on the chassis of the Compass 9 truck made its debut. The bodies for the new product will be assembled at Ulyanovsk SimAZ: the plant will replace units from Japanese Isuzu models with Chinese components. Using the Vega bus as an example, the Chelny auto giant demonstrated new LED headlights: they are made in the city of Klintsy (Bryansk region).
“Avtopotok” found out that at the end of 2023, all trucks of the KamAZ “Compass” family will switch to original one-piece headlights. For now, small-tonnage vehicles are equipped with stacked lighting equipment with round Hella-type blocks. Photos of the updated Compasses have not yet been published.

As for the Vega bus, it has a unified chassis with Compass 9 and is designed for 65 passengers. The new product has rear air suspension, an ABS system, power steering, electric and heated mirrors, a preheater, and there are USB connectors in the cabin. Optionally, you can install a Wi-Fi module, air conditioning, and order double glazing.

Proven technology: under the hood is an in-line four-cylinder Cummins ISF3.8 turbodiesel in the boost version with 154 horsepower and 491 Nm. Traction is transmitted to the rear axle through a 6-speed “mechanics” from the Chinese company Fast Gear.
