At the beginning of 2023, motorsport suffered a loss – the famous American racing driver Ken Block died during a snowmobile ride. His Hoonigan team and Audi decided to honor the memory of the legendary pilot and showman by releasing Electrikhana Two – the last lifetime video featuring Ken Block and the unique Audi S1 Hoonitron electric car. The capital of Mexico was turned into a track for a spectacular race, on the streets of which the filming of “Electrichana” took place. The video was filmed in November 2022, just weeks before the tragedy.

The second – and, alas, the last – Electrikhana was filmed during the day, and the location was Mexico City, where they found several interesting locations, including an airport, a parking lot and a bullring, where the video begins. But the most interesting moment, at least from a technical point of view, was the demonstration of the unique capabilities of the Audi S1 Hoonitron.

The model has been modified – the handling of the electric vehicle has been improved, in addition, a simulated gear shift has been added and the weight has been reduced. The electric car, which received a special livery for the second Elektrihana, first demonstrated “spot drifting,” in which the wheels of the front and rear axles rotate in opposite directions, allowing them to effectively destroy the tires.

In addition, thanks to the ability of electric motors to instantly change the direction of the wheels, Ken Block demonstrates a spectacular turn of the electric car without a significant loss of speed. Despite the tragedy, the project participants decided to bring “Electrichana” to the end and publish the edited video in order to thus honor the memory of the American racer.
