The EV3 and EV4 concept cars made their double debut in Los Angeles. The first is a compact crossover, and the second is called a sports sedan by the company itself. Both are built in accordance with the Opposites United design philosophy, which translates as “the union of opposites”, dismantling the capabilities of Kia’s electric architecture and the extensive use of environmentally friendly materials, including bioplastics.

The company said California is the best place to demonstrate new developments in the field of electric vehicles, because it is here that this market segment is most developed. At the same time, Kia does not provide any technical details about the electric concepts – all attention is paid to design and environmentally friendly materials.

The EV3 concept crossover is positioned by Kia as a practical electric car that combines the technology and design of the older EV9 model, but in a more compact size. It has a durable body (no specifics are given) and a dynamic silhouette with a sloping roof. Among the characteristic features, squared wheel arches with asymmetrical angles can be noted.

The interior is equipped with seats that can be moved, making the space more convenient for communication, relaxation or transporting things – in the latter case, you can fold the rear sofa and an electric scooter or bicycle will fit into the trunk.

The EV4 sports sedan has a four-door body with a long hood, a raised spoiler at the rear, vertical daytime running lights and futuristic wheels. Kia compares the interior to a cocoon and notes that recycled cotton and natural dyes are used in the decoration. The sedan was equipped with the Mind Modes function, which regulates lighting and ventilation and adapts to the driver.

It was previously reported that both the EV3 compact crossover and the EV4 sedan would be reborn as production models, each playing a strategic role in the brand’s growing green lineup. And this should happen soon – next year.
