The authors of the Throttle House channel held another race in a straight line, which became a kind of presentation of the capabilities of the American automobile industry in the muscle car segment – all three participants in the race were produced in the USA and represent iconic brands of the New World. The current Chevrolet Camaro LT1 and Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody were identified as rivals to the latest Ford Mustang in the top Dark Horse modification.
The Mustang Dark Horse has a 5.0-liter Coyote gasoline V8 that produces 500 horsepower and 567 Nm, and the curb weight of the new Ford is 1,791 kilograms.
However, the Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody Last Call Edition Shakedown is even heavier – its weight is 1948 kilograms, which accounts for 485 horsepower and 644 Nm from a 6.4-liter supercharged V8.
The lightest of all, but also the weakest of all, is the Chevrolet Camaro LT1, equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V6 with 455 horsepower and 617 Nm. All this accounts for a mass of 1642 kilograms. All participants in the race have rear-wheel drive, so in this regard the cars are equal. And it’s all the more interesting to find out which of the three rivals will be the fastest in the race in a straight line!
