The Chinese Automobiles portal found out that the Kaliningrad-based Avtotor assembled the first batch of mid-size trucks. We are talking about JMC Vigus, but in our country the model will be sold under a different brand. At first, they will offer a single configuration with a four-door cab, hard-wired all-wheel drive, a 2.5-liter turbodiesel and a manual transmission for 2,999,000 rubles.

JMC Vigus is a completely Chinese development, but in the Middle Kingdom the company has joint ventures with Ford and Isuzu, so it has solid experience in creating framed commercial models. However, the truck itself is not new: the premiere took place more than ten years ago. The design is traditional: ladder-type frame, continuous rear axle, cargo platform behind the five-seater cabin.

The equipment of the Russian version is not yet known, but in other countries the 5.35-meter version has a “leather” interior, climate control, a media system with a touchscreen and navigation, a rear view camera, keyless entry and a multifunction steering wheel. What of this will remain in the basic version for three million rubles is an open question.

Under the hood of a pickup truck with a gross weight of 2.8 tons will be a 128-horsepower turbodiesel with a working volume of 2.5 liters in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In December, JMC Vigus pickup trucks will begin to be sold at 35 dealership centers in 15 cities in Russia. The new product will have to compete with the Sollers ST6, which is 10-20 percent cheaper, and the Great Wall Poer King Kong, which is more modern, better equipped and noticeably larger in size.
