This will be a compact C-SUV class model for Latin American countries, the production of which will be launched at the Curitiba Veiculos de Passeio plant in the Brazilian municipality of São José dos Pinhais. 350 million euros will be invested in the development of the plant. The crossover will be built on the new modular architecture of the French brand, which debuted on the Kardian recently presented in Brazil, and will be equipped with a hybrid power plant.

In total, Renault’s production plan for 2024-2027 includes three C-segment crossovers, which are planned to be sold in international markets.

As for Brazil, taking into account the new investments, Renault’s investment in production in the country will amount to 850 million euros from 2021, said the president of Renault do Brasil, Ricardo Gondo.

Renault Kardian, which will share its platform with the new product, is a B-class urban crossover, shown in October 2023. In the brand’s lineup, it occupied a niche between the Kwid and Duster. Perhaps it is based on some modernized version of the CMF-B, but Renault has not yet disclosed the details.

It’s interesting that the new C-class is promised a hybrid setup, but Kardian doesn’t have it. In Brazil, the model will be offered with a liter turbocharged “three” with a capacity of 125 horsepower, running on gasoline or ethanol. The engine will be paired with a six-speed robot with two clutches, and there is no alternative to front-wheel drive.
