According to Mironov, Russian law enforcement agencies constantly monitor social networks. After officials discover an offense on the Internet, they are required to initiate an official review, during which the authenticity of the materials is established.

If editing was not used in the footage, law enforcement agencies establish the time and place of the incident, as well as the identity of the potential violator. Based on the collected data, department officials decide whether to bring the person to justice.

The expert emphasized that the mere fact of publishing photos or videos of speed limit violations or driving through a red traffic light on social networks does not automatically entail the initiation of a case. However, officials are obliged to respond to such materials.

The day before, a Moscow resident was fined for riding a homemade tricycle on the Garden Ring. Traffic police officers identified the violator on social networks.
