Saleen Automotive, which made a name for itself by modifying Ford cars and the Saleen S7 supercar of its own design, intends to resume production of sports cars. The American company’s partner in the project will be the French company Solution F, which has entered into an agreement for the supply of power units. It is expected that joint efforts will create a modern road supercar capable of running on hydrogen. Solution F is a developer of various units and small-scale vehicles.

For almost 40 years, the company has collaborated with the aerospace industry and motorsports, and also produced its own racing prototypes. One of them – the Foenix H2 shown in the photo with a 612-horsepower supercharged V8 – will become the basis for the future Saleen.

The one-of-a-kind Saleen S7 supercar will go under the hammer

According to the head of the company, Steve Saleen, the power unit will be a V6 engine with twin turbocharging, which can run on hydrogen, synthetic or traditional fuel. They plan to release a demo car by the end of 2024, and then, within two years, bring the car to mass production, undergoing the necessary tests.

It is expected that the serial hydrogen Saleen will appear in a couple of years, and then a racing version will be created on the basis of the road model, which the company intends to enter in the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon in the new category for hydrogen technology, which is being prepared by the organizers of the daily race in France.
