The currently unnamed model is planned to be produced at a plant in Illinois, where the Jeep Cherokee was previously produced. In February of this year, the plant was put into idle mode and 1.2 thousand people were laid off. However, after negotiations with the United Auto Workers (UAW) trade union, the Stellantis concern decided to resume the assembly of cars at this site, and a certain mid-size pickup truck will be put on the assembly line 1 reports this with reference to the UAW.

During negotiations, the automaker promised the UAW to provide benefits to laid-off workers at the Illinois plant: they would re-sign documents with continued pay and regain access to health insurance – and this would happen even before restarting production. In addition, Stellantis will create 1,000 jobs at a battery manufacturing plant in the same city.

The Stellantis line includes a RAM Rampage pickup truck that fits the description – it is assembled at a plant in Brazil. However, we are unlikely to be talking about this model: judging by the fact that battery production was mentioned, it will be a hybrid or electric vehicle on the STLA Large platform with a monocoque body.

It is known about the mentioned STLA Large platform that it provides power plants with a capacity of 204-450 horsepower and batteries with a capacity of 37 to 200 kilowatt-hours. The range of electric cars based on this “trolley” will be from 500 to 800 kilometers.
