The American representative office of Subaru published the only photo of the car – it shows a wheel that apparently belongs to a crossover. The picture is accompanied by a caption that the premiere of the new product will take place on November 16 in Los Angeles. According to one version, this may be a harbinger of the new generation Forester model, which is expected in 2025. Or is it a special version of one of the Subaru cars presented on the American market.

If we talk about Subaru crossovers that are sold in the United States, there are five of them: Ascent, Crosstrek, Outback, Solterra and Forester. The most recent of these is the electric Solterra, which went on sale last year, so this is unlikely to be the model in the teaser. The Crosstrek, Ascent and Outback can also be ruled out because they were all updated to some degree in the past year. That leaves Forester, the fifth generation of which has been on sale since 2018, so it claims to change generation in the coming years.

The Forester is currently available in the US with a 2.5-liter engine producing 185 horsepower. At the same time, in Japan the model also has a hybrid version: it is equipped with an e-Boxer unit, consisting of a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor.

At the end of summer, Forester entered the 2024 model year with minimal updates – there were no changes in design or engine range. The crossover received new settings for active safety systems, in particular, the automatic braking system when reversing was improved.

In Russia, the Subaru brand curtailed its activities after the start of the SVO: new cars are not officially supplied to the country, but Subaru Motor LLC continues to service cars that have already been sold. New products enter our market through parallel imports.

Crossovers are not for us
