The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the People’s Republic of China shared uncamouflaged photos of the EM90 single-volume vehicle. The new Volvo turned out to be a redesigned Zeekr 009 electric car: the wheelbase and width of the minivans are the same, the length of the model under the Swedish brand is three millimeters less, and the height is 11 millimeters more. The difference in appearance is achieved by replacing optics and mounted elements.

The technical similarity between the Volvo EM90 and Zeekr 009 did not come as a surprise, since both companies belong to the Geely holding. The minivan under the Swedish brand turned out to be very close to the original: not only the body frames are the same, but also the doors and glass! However, the front of the EM90 is designed in Volvo’s corporate style: there are original headlights and a bumper.

There are also no revelations about the filling: it is known that at the start of sales Volvo will offer a six-seat version with two electric motors with a peak power of 544 horsepower. There is no data on the traction battery, but we can expect CATL batteries with a capacity of 116 or 140 kilowatt-hours and a range of up to 820 kilometers (CLTC). However, the characteristics still need to be confirmed.

The main market for the Volvo EM90 will be China, where the assembly of the minivan will also be organized. The price guide is half a million yuan (equivalent to 69 thousand dollars), export supplies of the minivan are in question.
