The Gorky Automobile Plant filed a lawsuit against the company Romanov Motors LLC, whose owner named Alexey Mikheev previously administered the official website of the Nizhny Novgorod automaker. In the lawsuit, GAZ representatives stated that the businessman “illegally used the trademark.”

As part of the consideration of the case, the court ruled that the capital businessman was selling children’s electric cars. The entrepreneur’s model range included the Mini Volga GAZ 21, on the back of which the Muscovite used an emblem similar to the logo of the Gorky Automobile Plant. At the same time, the GAZ company did not give permission to use the trademark.

Alexey Mikheev sold almost two million rubles worth of electric vehicles. As part of the pre-trial claims, the businessman refused to disclose the source of origin of the children’s cars. As a result, the intellectual property rights court sided with the Gorky Automobile Plant. The capital’s entrepreneur was ordered to pay GAZ 3.9 million rubles.

At the end of October, Renault was sued by a former official dealer. A Russian company filed a lawsuit against the automaker for half a billion rubles.
