In 2024, the premiere of the new Bugatti hypercar will take place, which for the first time in the history of the French brand will receive a hybrid power plant. There is still very little official data about the model, but more and more details are gradually leaking out from various sources. Now the general director of the Bugatti-Rimac concern, Mate Rimac, has shed light on the upcoming premiere, outlining the approximate characteristics of the future power unit.

The top manager of Bugatti-Rimac said that the car will retain the recognizable style of Bugatti, and will also be a classic hypercar, whatever that means. At the same time, the company considered the possibility of creating a powerful coupe-crossover with an electric powertrain, but ultimately abandoned this idea.

The successor to the Chiron will receive a hybrid powertrain based on a naturally aspirated V16 engine. The power unit will be exactly one meter long, which is 400 millimeters longer than the length of the current W16 turbocharged engine.

There is no more information about the new product, but earlier there were rumors that the engine was developed with the participation of the British engineering company Cosworth. The volume of the unit will be 8.3 liters and the power will be 1000 horsepower. Another 800 will be provided by three electric motors, so that in terms of combined output, the new product in its basic version will be close to the Bolide prototype, which develops 1,850 horsepower on racing gasoline.
