The hybrid “six hundredth” entered the European market. The power plant consists of a 1.2 Puretech turbocharged engine, a robotic gearbox with a built-in electric motor and a traction battery. The battery capacity is so small that without activating the internal combustion engine, the new product can travel about one kilometer. That hasn’t stopped Fiat from attracting buyers with an “electric driving experience.”

The Fiat 600 debuted 2.5 months ago as an electric car, and now a version has been added to the range for those countries where the transition to all-battery models is slower. The moderate hybrid is 15 percent more economical and environmentally friendly than a conventional gasoline crossover, although Fiat does not provide absolute fuel consumption figures.

It is known that the gasoline engine develops 100 horsepower, an additional 28 horsepower during acceleration can be added by an electric motor, and traction is transmitted to the front axle through a preselective 6-speed “robot.” Acceleration from 0-100 will take 11 seconds. On electric power you can travel at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour. However, for mild hybrids with a 48-volt electrical system this is common.

In Italy, the base Fiat 600 Hybrid costs 25 thousand euros – 30 percent less than the 600e electric car. Taking into account subsidies for recycling, the starting price can be reduced to 20 thousand euros. And an even simpler and cheaper version of the “six hundredth” is on the way: with a conventional 1.2 turbo engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The equipment will be shared with the Jeep Avenger.
