As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, Chery, which owns the Omoda brand, is currently approving the design of the restyled crossover. It is possible that the C5 will be externally transformed in the style of its electric version E5, which, by the way, is also expected in Russia this year. Changes will also affect the interior. According to journalists, the updated Omoda C5 will debut in the summer, and will most likely reach us towards the end of the year.

C5 became the first Omoda model on the Russian market. Today, the crossover is available in several versions: with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 147 horsepower coupled with a CVT (it has front-wheel drive) and with a 1.6-liter supercharged engine developing 150 horsepower. The latter has a seven-speed “robot” and drive on all four wheels. Without discounts, current prices at the end of April range from 2,679,900 to 3,309,900 rubles.

As for the electric Omoda E5, this model was officially presented at the Omoda fan club meeting in early February, but it has not yet gone on sale. Externally, you can distinguish the E5 from the C5 by a different design of the front part with a plug where the fuel crossover has a radiator grille. In addition, the electric car has three additional stripes in the headlight units, and the lower part of the bumper has a different design with vertical slats.

It is assumed that the Omoda E5 will be offered in Russia with a 225-horsepower electric motor mounted on the front axle and a battery with a capacity of 61 kilowatt-hours. The electric cross accelerates from zero to “hundreds” in 7.8 seconds.

It is also known that the Omoda E5 has low energy consumption – 15.5 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers, and a power reserve of 430 kilometers. The model supports fast charging function, which allows you to replenish the energy reserve from 20 to 80 percent in just half an hour. The E5’s aerodynamic drag coefficient is 0.293, and the braking distance from one hundred kilometers per hour is 36 meters.

The E5 will be available at dealers in 2024.
