The new product, which debuted at the Beijing Motor Show, will receive a design in the style of the L-Concept, comfortable second-row seats and two hybrid power plants based on V6 3.0 and V8 4.0 engines. The power of the first will be 394 horsepower, the second – 490. The main competitor of the Hongqi Guoya in the Chinese market will be the Mercedes-Maybach S 580 e hybrid sedan.

At the Beijing Motor Show, Hongqi presented the Guoya sedan, which will be located a step above the H9 in the brand’s lineup. The name is translated from Chinese as “national” or “country”, and by all indications this is a potential competitor to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The Guoya’s design is reminiscent of the 2021 Hongqi L-Concept. On the outside it is lavishly decorated with chrome, and on the inside with expensive leather and what appears to be natural wood.

There are no details about Guoya either on the official Hongqi website or on Chinese blogs and social networks. However, information about power plants has leaked from the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. There are two of them, both hybrid, but without the ability to charge from the network. The initial system will be based on a V6 3.0 engine with a capacity of 394 horsepower, the top one – on a V8 4.0, the output of which will be 490 horsepower.

Guoya’s main rival in the Chinese market will obviously be the Mercedes-Maybach S 580 e. The rear-wheel drive sedan is equipped with a supercharged 3.0 six (367 hp), to which a 150-horsepower electric motor is attached, and a nine-speed automatic transmission. In total, the PHEV installation develops 510 forces and 750 Nm of torque and allows it to accelerate to “hundreds” in 5.2 seconds. Such a car costs from 2,016,000 yuan, which is equivalent to 26.2 million rubles.
