Journalists from the Spanish publication km77 tested the restyled Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback, which was challenged with the traditional “moose test”. During the races, the car must suddenly change lanes – as if meeting a real animal – into the adjacent lane and return back to its own. The German electric hatchback failed to perform this maneuver at a speed of 77 kilometers per hour, although experts had no particular complaints about the driving performance of the ID.3.

The modernized ID.3 differs from the pre-restyling version only in its updated appearance, improved interior and more modern equipment, but technically the Volkswagen remains unchanged, apart from minor adjustments.

As before, the ID.3 is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle, which develops 204 horsepower. The test tested included a version with a battery capacity of 58 kilowatt-hours, but this hardly had any effect on handling during the journalistic test.

In the best attempt, the hatchback stayed in the corridor of cones at a speed of 75 kilometers per hour, which is not a passing result for the “moose test”. But at the same time, experts did not have any particular complaints about the behavior of the electric car, except for the fairly stiff suspension, which improves handling but reduces comfort.
