According to Autostat Info, in September, sales of pickup trucks in Russia jumped 2.7 times to 1,736 units, and 59.5 percent of them were Chinese products. The most popular model was the JAC T6, which was chosen by 332 buyers, which is 4.6 times more than in September 2022. The Ulyanovsk pickup truck took second place with 288 units sold. The third was another “Chinese” – a market newcomer [Changan Hunter Plus](https://motor.ru/news/changan-hunter-plus-prices-26-06-2023.htm).

The top three are followed by Great Wall Poer and Poer Kingkong. By the way, it was Poer that “overthrew” the UAZ Pickup from its favorite first place in July: the Chinese model was then chosen by 434 people, and the domestic one by 266.

As for brands, the situation here is not in favor of UAZ. The first in September was the Chinese JAC with 433 units and an increase of 5.2 times, the second was Great Wall with (344 units and a two-fold increase). UAZ took only third place.

Based on the results of three quarters of 2023, Great Wall still sells better: the auto giant managed to sell 3,372 cars. UAZ is in second position with 2,264 units, JAC is in third with 1,501. Two more places in the top 5 were taken by Mitsubishi and Ram, which are no longer operating in Russia. Moreover, sales of both have increased noticeably, although now cars can only enter the country via a parallel route.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin spoke about the growing demand for Chinese cars. In his opinion, interest in them is growing not only due to the lack of competitors, but also due to the improvement of the products themselves, the price of which increasingly corresponds to the quality.
