Such an increase was recorded in October compared to September of this year, RIA Novosti reports citing Droma analysts. That is, the average cost of a Chinese car on the Russian secondary market in October reached 2.3 million rubles, although in early autumn “Chinese” cars were offered for an average of 2.05 million. The rise in price is explained by an increase in supply.

In September, 17,140 used Chinese cars were sold at Droma alone, and in October – already 19,900, which is 16 percent more. The assortment is being replenished with more and more “younger” cars from China, which the Russians have already begun to get rid of. They cost more than the old ones, which caused a sharp increase in the average bill.

In the third quarter of 2023, the most popular car from China on the secondary market was Geely’s flagship Monjaro, which went on sale just six months ago, Avito Auto found out earlier. On average, they fetched 3.8 million rubles for it. In second and third places are older and much cheaper models – Chery Tiggo (T11) and Lifan Solano.

Also in the top 10 most popular used “Chinese” models are Geely Emgrand EC7, Changan UNI-K, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Chery Amulet (A15) and Zeekr 001.

Meanwhile, two Chinese cars are among the top five crossovers that have retained their residual value the best: Chery Tiggo 4 and Changan CS35 Plus. The biggest benefits are received by Russians who resell Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Toyota RAV4.
