Bonhams is selling a rare Jaguar XJR-S coupe at an online auction. The model, produced from 1988 to 1993, was equipped with a 6.0-liter V12 producing 328 hp. and was a collaboration between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR).

This Jaguar XJR-S was originally used as a company car by a London advertising agency and is finished in Signal Red with a cream leather interior. At the rear there is a spoiler from TWR, as well as special front and rear bumpers that give the coupe a very nice profile.

The car remains highly original and still rides on 16-inch JaguarSport alloy wheels, unique to this model, with Michelin Pilot Sport tires all round: 225/50ZR16 front and 255/50ZR16 rear.

The front seats with developed lateral support have bright red stitching in body color. They’re very comfortable and perfectly suit the XJR-S’s vision of being able to set a lap record at Silverstone before lunch and then cross Europe before dinner. The seats are heated and electrically adjustable.

The dashboard features round JaguarSport gauges. The display on the rudimentary digital trip computer also works, which is great for a car of this era.

Expert reviews about this model were extremely positive. Here’s what Andrew Frankel, for example, wrote in Motorsport magazine:

“The engine sound was magnificently rich and complex. It may have lacked the mechanical whine of a similarly configured Ferrari engine, but it also had far more soul than the V12 under the hood of any BMW or Mercedes. What’s more, the 490Nm of torque meant that for the first time in its history, the XJS had an engine that meant the gearbox did not need to use more than three speeds.”

The current bid is 6,500 pounds sterling (750 thousand rubles), and there are still 2 days left until the end of the auction.
