Otkritie Auto experts came to the conclusion that some Chinese companies are having problems selling cars on the Russian market. Vivid examples of this are Chery, whose sales have been declining for the second month in a row, and Omoda, which belongs to it. The fact is that cars of these brands are mainly bought on credit, and with the increase in the Central Bank rate and the autumn price increase, it has become more difficult for Russians to decide to buy.

In October, 51.5 thousand new Chinese cars were sold in Russia. The leader in sales volumes was Haval, which sold 12.8 thousand cars. Chery, whose dealers sold 10.9 thousand cars last month, has seen a decline in sales for the second month in a row (-10 percent compared to the September result), and demand for models of its sub-brands – Omoda (4.8 thousand units, -9 percent) is also falling. ) and Exeed (4.4 thousand units, -3 percent).

In third place is Geely, which is only slightly behind Chery – this company completed the second autumn month with 10.4 thousand cars sold, which is 13 percent more than in September. Moreover, not all of these cars were officially imported to Russia: for example, out of 8.3 thousand Monjaro crossovers registered, the distributor of the brand delivered 5.3 thousand to our country. The appearance of a new model, the Emgrand sedan, which costs less than two million rubles, may also have a positive impact on Geely sales.

Sales of Changan are also growing (6.4 thousand units, +8 percent). The bestsellers of this brand are CS35, CS75 and Uni-K. In addition, in the fall, the Changan Alsvin, one of the most affordable sedans with an automatic transmission on the Russian market, was in strong demand.
