The Russian Automobile telegram channel claims that the electric vehicle division of BAIC and the Avtotor plant have already signed an agreement. Arcfox can be considered a niche automaker: it is a young brand, whose products are much inferior in popularity to the leaders of the Chinese market. The sales result for 2023 is only 30 thousand electric cars, which corresponds to a share of 0.12 percent.
According to insiders, the Arcfox dealer network is currently being formed in Russia. It is not known which electric cars will be officially brought to our country, but the range includes the mid-size crossover αT, the business liftback αS, the Kaola compact van for young mothers, as well as the compact sedan αS5 and the crossover αT5.

In China, the Arcfox brand plays in the near-premium segment, and there are no dealers in the usual sense: car dealerships do not buy electric cars, but are engaged in issuing already ordered cars and servicing them. Five years ago, BAIC showed new Arcfox products at the Geneva Motor Show, but expansion into Europe did not happen. Kaliningrad “Avtotor” will become the first foreign site for the assembly of Arcfox and may aim at becoming a key foreign partner.
Avtotor called the information about the assembly of Arcfox electric vehicles in Kaliningrad “an unconfirmed rumor.” However, the Russian plant already has joint production with BAIC: U5 Plus sedans, BJ40 SUVs, as well as X35, X55 and X75 crossovers are assembled in our country. More modern models are on the way: the latest BJ40 crossover and BJ60 SUV.
