The company is going to supply Lada to Iran: everything is ready for this, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Andrey Vladimirtsev, head of the sales and business development department in foreign markets. Soon, thanks to the new deal, partners in the Middle Eastern country will begin selling three models of the Lada brand – Vesta, Granta and Niva Travel, he said. The next stage may be the launch of local production.

The “large and very interesting” market of Iran (1.05 million cars sold in 2022) is one of the priorities, since the country has a large target audience for Lada, Vladimirtsev said. AvtoVAZ is already ready to start deliveries and has found a partner who will help with distribution, service and warranty repairs – this is the Nika Motor company.

Now Lada cars are undergoing certification necessary to enter the Iranian market. Lada Vesta, Granta and Niva Travel will soon be presented there, and Iran will become one of the first export countries for Travel.

According to the Autopotok Telegram channel, Vesta and Granta in Iran will be sold with a CVT.

Subsequently, AvtoVAZ plans to establish small-scale production of Lada in Iran itself, selecting ready-made facilities for this and training personnel. As Vladimirtsev noted, this is more effective than creating a joint venture.

AvtoVAZ supplies to Iran have been talked about for several years now. At the beginning of 2023, it was reported that regular exports would be established next year. The import of Iranian cars to Russia is also stalling: mass deliveries of Iran Khodro and SAIPA have not yet begun.
