The American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for racing, also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its project This vs. That. In the new straight race, bloggers decided to move away from the usual scenario and sent two extremely seriously modernized all-terrain vehicles off-road. The rivals were a Ford modified beyond recognition and a racing monster truck created on the basis of a Chevrolet. Both have huge V8s.

Such unusual participants in the race also required an unusual approach to assessing their capabilities – instead of pure power, the organizers of the race this time give the ratio of power to weight.

The car, which was once a 1937 Ford truck, manages 0.180 thanks to a heavily modified 8.9-liter V8 that’s mated to a 2-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The 2003 Chevrolet Silverado monster truck has a 6.6-liter supercharged V8 that produces a power-to-weight ratio of 0.102. The rear-wheel drive pickup truck is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission and independent front suspension. A continuous axle is installed at the rear, and Ford has two of them.

Real SUVs: are they even left?
