The Quto.ru portal found out that trucks assembled at the Foton-Daimler joint venture have reached our country. Features of the Mercedes-Benz Actros Made in China – Meichi axles, simplified configurations and the ability to choose a 6×2 or 6×4 wheel arrangement. Such a tractor costs in Russia from 12.3 million rubles: much cheaper than the original German assembly.

The Chinese Mercedes-Benz Actros with the prefix C is adapted to local realities, the localization level exceeds 60%, and a number of components are original. Under the hood is an in-line six-cylinder 12.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel coupled with a localized 12-speed ZF “robot.” However, regular Mercedes-Benz Actros are also assembled in China: with a 12.8-liter OM 471 turbodiesel and the original Mercedes-Benz Powershift “robot”.

In Russia, the price difference between the Chinese-made Actros and Actros C is small. And in our country they sell German-assembled Mercedes-Benz tractors, but such Actros are at least 3.5 million rubles more expensive, and the initial configuration has two axles, not three. Most Chinese Mercedes have a minimum of options, unpainted bumpers and plugs instead of foglights.

In Russia, Chinese Mercedes will compete with other trucks from the Middle Kingdom and the flagship KamAZ trucks of the K5 line. The Chelny auto giant was forced to almost halve the plan for long-haul tractors, since only three thousand vehicles rolled off the assembly line in nine months. In 2024, they intend to triple the production of KamAZ K5.
