Chinese automaker Geely has liquidated its Geometry electric sub-brand. Despite the general tendency to separate electric models into separate brands, Geely decided to make Geometry models part of the main line. The actual transition began in April of this year, but the company officially announced it only in October.

The Geometry sub-brand was founded in 2019, and the deregistration decree due to dissolution was signed on September 20, 2023. The reasons are standard – Geometry showed too low sales.

The company specialized in affordable electric cars, but since competitors like BYD and Wuling strengthened their presence in the market, the brand has ceased to be competitive. Over the past months of 2023, Geometry sold less than 40 thousand cars, which is extremely low for the Chinese market.

At the end of September, the German concern Volkswagen announced that it would suspend the production of two electric models – ID.3 and Cupra Born. The reasons are similar: low sales and an unstable market situation.
