The Sollers Group will launch the production of manual transmissions for UAZ SUVs. For these purposes, she received approval from the Industrial Development Fund for a preferential loan. The assembly of the six-speed manual transmission is planned to be launched at the facilities of the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant. The launch is tentatively scheduled for the second quarter of 2024 with a gradual increase in volumes.

It is reported that the loan amount is 564 million rubles. With this money, Sollers will purchase equipment for setting up an assembly shop, a line for mechanical processing of body parts and serial foundry equipment. In the future, it is planned to localize all the main elements of the manual transmission.

According to the plan, the start of production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. By the end of next year, the Sollers group plans to produce about seven thousand boxes, in the future this number should increase to 50 thousand per year.

In mid-July, it became known that Sollers had localized the assembly of 2.0 and 2.7 liter diesel engines. The engines are planned to be installed on Sollers Argo and Atlant commercial vans.
