There was confusion with the name of the model: in China this crossover is called Boyue L and is considered the second generation of the Atlas Pro familiar to Russians. At the beginning of November, the crossover was announced for the Kazakhstan market and was given the name Starray, and the other day it went on sale, but as Atlas. The model is available for purchase with two engines to choose from and in three trim levels, prices vary from 13,990,000 to 14,990,000 tenge (2.67 – 2.86 million rubles at today’s exchange rate).

The new generation Atlas is built on the CMA platform, the same one that powers the Tugella and Monjaro. The crossover is made in Geely’s signature style called Energy Storm: it has ultra-thin headlights (the headlights consist of 182 LEDs) and a frameless radiator grille. Unlike the Atlas Pro, the cabin features a vertical 13.2-inch multimedia screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel.

In Kazakhstan, the model debuted in the Comfort, Premium and Flagship trim levels. There are two engines to choose from: the base is a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 174 horsepower, and the more powerful option is a 218-horsepower 2.0-liter unit. In both cases, the drive is front-wheel drive, and the gearbox is a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches. The less powerful Atlas accelerates to 60 mph in 9.7 seconds and has a top speed of 190 kilometers per hour. The top-end crossover requires 8.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour, and its top speed is 215 kilometers per hour. Average fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 6.8 and 7.4 liters per 100 kilometers, respectively.

The list of equipment includes 18-inch wheels, front airbags as standard (additional side airbags and curtain airbags in more expensive versions), cruise control (starting with the “middle” configuration it is adaptive), single-zone or dual-zone climate control, and Top features include a head-up display and ventilated front seats. For an additional payment of 500 thousand tenge (95.7 thousand rubles), an Exclusive package is offered, which includes a black roof and exterior mirror housings, 20-inch wheels and an illuminated Geely emblem on the front.

By the way, the model that is sold in Russia as Geely Atlas Pro is called Azkarra in Kazakhstan. It turns out that the new Atlas is positioned on the local market as a different model, and not the second generation. In other words, Azkarra and Atlas will be sold there in parallel.

It was previously reported that the new Atlas could reach the Russian market, but the Geely representative office has not yet officially commented on its launch.
