According to preliminary calculations by insurance specialists, who were told only the approximate prices of three new products in the Russian automobile industry, for most drivers an annual voluntary auto insurance policy will initially cost about 70-85 thousand rubles. In the future, tariffs will depend on the level of localization of production and, consequently, the availability and cost of spare parts.
Several models will be assembled under the revived Volga brand in Nizhny Novgorod – the premiere of three of them took place the other day. These are the Volga C40 D-class sedan, the Volga K30 C-class crossover and the Volga K40 D-class crossover. All three listed cars are converted cars from the Chinese Changan: the C40 sedan was identified as Changan Raeton Plus, and the K30 and K40 crossovers were identified as Oshan X5 Plus and Uni-Z, respectively.

All three new Volgas are equipped with a combination of a gasoline engine with a capacity of 188 horsepower and a seven-speed “robot” with two wet clutches. The list of equipment includes a multimedia system with access to local services and a set of electronic assistants.
According to the plans of the Nizhny Novgorod plant, the first production units of Volga will roll off the assembly line in 2024, and next year they will launch the full production cycle. According to preliminary estimates, the C40 sedan will cost approximately 2.5 million rubles, the K30 crossover – 2.5-3 million depending on the configuration, and the flagship K40 SUV – 3-3.5 million rubles.
Rosgosstrakh noted that now, for obvious reasons, most new auto insurance contracts are drawn up by buyers of AvtoVAZ products and various Chinese brands. At the same time, the company’s portfolio also includes agreements with the owners of old Volga cars. There are 12 of them, and they have been clients of this insurance company for more than 20 years.
