We are talking about the all-wheel drive truck JMC Vigus Work, which will be installed on the conveyor of the Kaliningrad Avtotor along with other commercial models of the brand. According to Chinese Automobiles, in China the cost of a Vigus Work with a turbodiesel is 86.8-107.8 thousand yuan, which is equal to 1.15-1.45 million in terms of rubles. In export markets, it is, of course, more expensive.

Vigus Work is the export name for a JMC Baodian pickup truck that debuted in China in 2002. In 2020, the model changed its generation and is delivered abroad in this form, despite the fact that it underwent restyling in its homeland in 2023.

Vigus Work is comparable in size to a four-door Toyota Tacoma. It is 5410 mm long, 1905 mm wide and 1795 mm high. At the same time, its wheelbase is noticeably smaller than that of the Tacoma, and is 3085 millimeters against 3235.

The equipment list includes ABS and EBD systems, two airbags and disc brakes, and a touchscreen with Bluetooth support is installed in the cabin.

Avtotor has already officially announced the start of production of JMC models – the commercial Carrying and Conquer and the Vigus Work pickup truck. “After reaching the required production volume, a phased transition to the production of JMC cars on a full cycle is envisaged,” the plant said in a statement.

The JMC motor is a converted unit of the Japanese Isuzu. In the export version, the 2.5-liter turbodiesel develops 123 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, which is slightly less than the return for the domestic market. The engine is paired with a five-speed “mechanics”, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

“Avtotor”, reoriented to the “Chinese”, in addition to JMC assembles cars Kaiyi, SWM and BAIC. By the end of the year, another brand will join them, and the number of models produced will increase to 20. Previously, until 2022, Kia, BMW, Hyundai and Genesis rolled off the assembly line in Kaliningrad.
