Sollers will organize the production of auto components at the UAZ plant
Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Russkikh spoke about plans for the further development of the large concern Sollers. As it became known, the brand is actively working on localizing its cars. In accordance with this direction, it was decided to organize the production of main components at the UAZ plant.
Thus, electronic control units for the safety system, steering columns, as well as airbags and seat belts will be assembled here. Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that all these parts will be used not only within the company, but will also be available for other brands. In particular, Sollers components will be introduced into GAZ and Moskvich cars (photo: Sollers).
Let us recall that at the end of summer, Sollers, together with the Chinese brand JAC, began assembling the Sollers Argo commercial vehicle, which, by the way, has already found its audience. The release of at least 2,500 copies is planned for this year. Both of these projects required investments of more than three billion rubles. In addition, modernization of the Dimitrovgrad Automotive Aggregate Plant (DAFZ) is underway, where AvtoVAZ and KamAZ also participate.
