The premiere of the new product took place in Tehran: there they presented the electric version of the Rira EV model (also spelled Reera), which differs from the gasoline version not only in the power plant, but also in design. The “green” Rira can be recognized by the plug in place of the radiator grille and the bright blue decor. The Iranian electric car will go into production in the future, but Iran Khodro has not yet reported when exactly this will happen.

As Khodrobank writes, the Iran Khodro Rira EV has a number of features: for example, for some reason the electric car retained the imitation of the exhaust system pipes, and the ventilation holes in the front bumper, which are also present in the regular Rira with an internal combustion engine, also remained in place. They didn’t change the interior either – it exactly replicates the fuel model. The list of equipment includes a digital instrument panel and a multimedia system screen, which are combined into one long rectangular cluster.

The crossover will have all-round cameras, a traction control system, heated seats, and tire pressure sensors. The equipment can be called quite rich by the standards of other Iranian cars.

The electric crossover is driven by a 163-horsepower electric motor, which is powered by a battery with a capacity of 53 kilowatt-hours. On one charge, Rira travels up to 420 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. Charging time from a household outlet is 10 hours.

As for the regular Rira, it is built on the IKP1 platform, a localized version of the PSA PF1 “trolley” from Peugeot 2008 in Iran. The crossover is equipped with a 1.7-liter turbo engine producing 168 horsepower, which is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. The car has exclusively front-wheel drive.
