According to the Drom.ru portal, the auto giant is analyzing the feasibility of organizing production of the Yttrium 3, a five-door car that entered the Chinese market in June. We are talking about the development of JAC on a new modular electrical platform. Advantages over Moskvich 3e are more modern architecture, advanced interior, variability of the power plant and price.

JAC Yttrium 3 in China costs from 90 thousand yuan (equivalent to 12.3 thousand dollars), and the harbinger of Moskvich 3e – Sehol E40X – will cost 161 thousand yuan (22 thousand dollars). At the same time, the new product has a more modern interior, and the power reserve ranges from 405 to 505 kilometers, depending on the capacity of the lithium iron phosphate battery.

Insiders clarify that KamAZ has not yet made a final decision on assembling Yttrium 3 in Russia. However, the project involves the production of one thousand electric vehicles in the first year of production. The main rival of the “Russified” new JAC product may be the Atom electric car. However, serial production of the Atom is more than a year away, and in theory it is possible to localize the assembly of the new Yttrium 3 electric car faster – this was proven by the example of Moskvich.

According to the parallel import scheme, JAC Yttrium 3 can be brought to Russia for 2.1 million rubles, while Moskvich 3e, excluding promotions and special offers, costs 3.95 million rubles. KamAZ has launched a special promotion for plant employees, which implies significant discounts on Moskvich products subject to a number of conditions.
