The new Mercedes-Benz GLC crossover has serious problems with the windows

Specialists from the German brand Mercedes have identified a serious malfunction in the Mercedes-Benz GLC 2024 model year. The fact is that the glass fixation turned out to be unreliable, and this threatens serious problems on the roads. The reason lies in the glue used, which does not meet quality requirements. The defect was discovered just as part of the vehicle inspection, and the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was immediately notified about it.

Despite the fact that the malfunction became known in September, owners of such Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 will be notified only on January 2. All work to eliminate the defect will be carried out at the expense of the company as soon as possible. It must be said that this problem can have serious consequences. Firstly, the glass can fly out while driving. Secondly, the built-in airbags will also not work correctly (photo: Mercedes-Benz).

The reason lies in the glue used, the labeling of which turned out to be incorrect. This resulted in the windshield, side and rear windows not being properly secured. In total, this malfunction affected seven vehicles. In accordance with the identified defects, changes were made to the supplier’s (EFTEC AG) production process to ensure that this situation does not reoccur.
