The automaker’s press service captured from all angles a model that could become the flagship of the Tiggo 8 family. There is not a single common detail with the Russian Tiggo 8 Pro Max, and the design is in the spirit of the “older” Tiggo 9 crossover. So far, the only all-wheel drive non-hybrid version with a gasoline engine has been certified turbo engine 2.0 Kunpeng (254 power, 390 Nm).

From the open database of certification documents it is known: the Tiggo 8L is only five centimeters behind the Tiggo 9 in terms of wheelbase (2770 versus 2820 mm). The length/width/height of the new “eight” are respectively 4795/1930/1725 millimeters, that is, the new product is 7.5 centimeters longer, 7 centimeters wider and 2 centimeters higher than the Russian Tiggo 8 Pro Max!

Distinctive features of the model are “hidden” door handles, a large shield-shaped radiator grille, exposed exhaust pipes, and chrome wheels. The most obvious resemblance to the Chery Tiggo 9 is from the rear, but the “younger” crossover has a body kit that does not match the body color and there are no inserts on the front fenders and doors. But the interiors are similar: versions with five and seven seats are being prepared.

The positioning of Chery Tiggo 8L is an open question. The Chinese brand is preparing a whole galaxy of updated models with already familiar indices: the modernized Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 7 are on the way, as well as the modified Tiggo 8 rechargeable hybrid. Details are expected in the near future.
