Before the global premiere of the EV3 production model, scheduled for May 23, Kia shared details about the new product and published several fresh teaser images. A compact crossover with an electric powertrain, according to preliminary data, will cost approximately 30 thousand dollars, which in terms of rubles at today’s exchange rate is 2.7 million.

The concept of the same name was shown in Los Angeles in November 2023. It was then reported that the EV3 was made in accordance with the Opposites United design philosophy, which translates as “the union of opposites”, and dismantled the capabilities of Kia’s electrical architecture and the widespread use of environmentally friendly materials, including bioplastics. The production version has the same concept: the exterior design is almost exactly the same as last year’s show car.

But the interior, which has not yet been shown, will most likely be simplified and adapted to a production car. At the same time, Kia is unlikely to abandon the use of environmentally friendly materials in decoration.

Kia showed the first teasers of the updated EV6 crossover The powerful Kia EV9 GT will accelerate to “hundreds” in less than 4 seconds Kia will build a plant with a capacity of 70 thousand cars per year in Kazakhstan

The EV3 is based on the E-GMP platform, on which other electric cars from Kia and Hyundai are based. However, if the top models have an 800-volt architecture, then the more affordable EV3 will have a 400-volt architecture. It is also known that the crossover will be offered with two batteries of different capacities to choose from – 58 and 77.4 kilowatt-hours. It can be assumed that on a single charge of the 77.4-kilowatt battery, the EV3 will be able to travel approximately 500 kilometers – an indicator at the level of the Ioniq 5 with a similar battery.

Meanwhile, another electric Kia model, the EV6 crossover, is preparing for an update. Its premiere will take place before the end of the year. The electric car will be transformed outside and, probably, inside, and will also receive improved electronic driver assistants and more advanced multimedia. EV6 also promises a new 84-kilowatt-hour battery from the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which will replace the current 77.4-kilowatt one.
