The segment of “charged” station wagons is quite modest, but each model that is presented in it is a product of high engineering – ready to take part in a straight line race at any moment. This time, the authors of Motorsport Magazine pitted the well-deserved Audi RS 4 Avant in drag racing, which was challenged by an ambitious newcomer in the form of the BMW M3 Touring. At the same time, an unusual distance was chosen for the race – 1000 meters.

Audi has a 2.9-liter V6 petrol turbo engine that produces 450 horsepower and 600 Newton meters. The car has an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The RS 4 Avant weighs 1,745 kilograms.

Under the hood of the M3 Touring is an in-line 6-cylinder 3.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with a power of 510 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. The BMW station wagon weighs 1865 kilograms.
