The new product is called secret because until recently there was practically no information about it, with the exception of a few patent images. The L-Type was first shown to the public at the end of November as part of a special exposition at the Russia exhibition, which is currently taking place at VDNKh in Moscow. This is a two-seater electric quadricycle developed by the Obukhov Plant, part of the Almaz-Antey defense concern.

Photos and information about the L-Type are published by the Drom.ru portal. The stand next to the quadricycle prototype states that this is “an urban compact electric vehicle for corporate fleets with short-distance transportation: last-mile delivery, servicing closed areas, urban service and sharing.” L-Type belongs to category L7 (heavy quadricycles). The model will have two versions – a double passenger and a single cargo one.

The dimensions are also given: the length of the electric car is 2.5 meters, and the width and height are one and a half meters each. A battery with six modules of 2.66 kilowatt-hours each provides the L-Type with a range of 183 kilometers. It is also stated that there is “Battery Swap battery replacement technology”, which allows you to replace all six discharged modules with charged ones in five minutes.

“Battery modules are charged in specially designed charging stations (“charging cabinets”),” says the information board. It also noted that the car was created from Russian components “for easy availability of spare parts.”

It was previously reported that the weight of the passenger version will be 450 kilograms, and the cargo version – 650 kilograms. The maximum speed of the electric car is 90 kilometers per hour.

The start of mass production of the L-Type (according to other sources, the model may be called Drive it or “Drivet”) is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024. It is assumed that assembly will be established at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg.
