Geely Galaxy has published official images of its upcoming E5 electric crossover, the first model of its class to be released under the Galaxy brand. The E5’s price range is expected to be around 150,000–200,000 yuan (RUB 1.9 to 2.6 million), with an official launch to take place in the second quarter of this year.

The Galaxy E5 is based on the Geely Electric Platform (GEA). GEA covers EV, EREV, PHEV and green methanol powertrains. Geely claims that GEA is the world’s first four-in-one smart platform consisting of “hardware, system, ecology and artificial intelligence.” The Geely Galaxy E5 has dimensions of 4615x1901x1670 mm, a wheelbase of 2750 mm, a panoramic sunroof, hidden door handles and 18/19-inch five-spoke wheels.

The front design is reminiscent of the Geely Galaxy E8, with a closed matrix light grille, sharp headlights and decorative C-shaped vents at the bottom. The rear features an integrated high-mounted brake light and a distinctive set of taillights.

Official details about the powertrain have not been revealed at the moment, but Geely has mentioned that the E5 will use an 11-in-1 smart electric drive and a Shendun battery. The power reserve can reach 2000 km. Previously, Geely also announced a single-motor version of the Galaxy E5, which has a maximum power of 160 kW and uses a lithium iron phosphate battery. The stated maximum speed is 175 km/h.

The salon is designed in a minimalist style. It features a flat-bottom steering wheel, head-up display, digital instrument cluster and a large central screen that integrates the Flyme Auto operating system running on the Dragon Eagle-1 chip.
