We are talking about Monjaro, the largest and most expensive Geely model among those officially sold on our market. Thus, according to Autostat, in October Russians bought 10,360 new Geely cars, 3,477 of which were Monjaro. With this result, the flagship crossover became the most popular model of the brand in Russia for the first time.
As of today, recommended retail prices for the Geely Monjaro start from 4,674,990 rubles for the starting Luxury package and go up to 4,974,990 rubles for the top-end Exclusive version. There are also discounts on the model – the maximum benefit can reach 280 thousand rubles. Regardless of the performance level, the crossover is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with 238 horsepower, an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Monjaro is supplied to Russia from China.
Previously, the most popular model of the brand was Coolray – a compact crossover with a starting price of 2,329,990 rubles. And recently it was updated, transformed outside and inside, and also acquired a new engine (although the power has not changed) – such a car will cost at least 2,594,990 rubles.
In addition to the new Coolray, the Geely model line in Russia has been replenished with the Emgrand sedan (from 1,999,990 rubles for the manual version and from 2,209,990 rubles for the modification with a classic automatic). The model is offered in four trim levels and with a non-alternative 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine producing 122 horsepower. Emgrand’s competitors are Kaiyi E5, BAIC U5 Plus, Changan Eado Plus and Omoda S5.

In total, 10,360 Geely cars were sold in Russia in October, which is 3.3 times more compared to the same month in 2022. And according to the results of ten months, 69,384 Geely units were purchased in our country – 3.7 times more than the same period last year. As a result, Geely took fourth place in sales among all brands in Russia, and its market share was 8.4 percent versus 3.6 percent a year earlier.
