An AMG version has been added to the range of the new Mercedes-Benz CLE. The CLE53 4Matic+ coupe received the M 256M six with combined supercharging, an adaptive chassis and a steering rear axle. The drive is, of course, all-wheel drive, with the ability to disable the front end to save fuel and a separate drift mode, in which the CLE53 remains strictly rear-wheel drive throughout the entire speed range.
The new Mercedes-AMG CLE53 4Matic+ will be the entry ticket to the world of “charged” coupes. Moreover, the combination of sporty proportions and driving qualities of the “tseshki” with the status and spaciousness of the E-Class will mainly impress buyers. The AMG version differs from the regular CLE by a wider track at the front and rear (by 58 and 75 mm, respectively), a front bumper with an enlarged central air intake and a small spoiler. The AMG Optics (swirlers, larger spoiler and diffuser), AMG Night (blackened decor) and AMG Carbon (carbon fiber elements) packages will help make the look even more impressive.

Under the hood of the CLE53 4Matic+ there is a 3.0 petrol “six”, supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator. This is the well-known “row” M 256, which after modernization changed its internal index to M 256M. It is still equipped with combined supercharging (turbocharger + electric supercharger), but produces 449 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque (600 Nm in overboost). The engine is assisted by an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission with manual gear shifting. The traction between the wheels is distributed by the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system with a separate drift mode.

The coupe comes standard with electronically controlled shock absorbers, three-level power steering and a steering rear axle. Moreover, all this is tied to the AMG Dynamic Select driving mode switch. The optional AMG Dynamic Plus package will add even more goodies. It includes a Race profile with the most aggressive mechatronics settings, a steering wheel with quick access buttons for driving modes and chassis settings, red brake calipers with AMG lettering, and active engine mounts. The CLE53 4Matic+ accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 or 270 kilometers per hour.
