A week after the premiere of the version with a forced six-cylinder engine, RAM advertising director Jeff Summers announced interesting details. It turned out that the branded video dedicated to 1500 RHO contains an Easter egg that no one noticed. She hints at the development of the “next high-performance RAM.” We can conclude: the RHO version is not considered a successor to TRX.

The new RAM 1500 RHO pickup inherits from the TRX version a recalibrated suspension and a reinforced rear axle, but Jeff Summers’ statement can be regarded as the announcement of an even more extreme pickup truck. Last year, RAM CEO Tim Kuniskis said that the retirement of the eight-cylinder TRX “is not the end of the story,” but now it is clear that a successor has not yet been shown.

The new RAM turbo engine turned out to be as “gluttonous” as the V8 Hemi Detroit premieres: 30 years ago Unexpected equipment with a motor from the Dodge Viper

Probably, the RAM press service expected that the “Easter egg” would be solved by American journalists or fans, but the plot is too ambiguous. Joining the RAM 1500 RHO convoy were two motorcycles, one with the number “540” on its numbers, hinting at American horsepower, and the other with an empty number plate. In this non-trivial way, Stellantis made it clear that it was not ready to name the return of an even more extreme pickup truck.

The RAM 1500 RHO costs $70,000, ten percent less than the six-cylinder Ford Raptor. However, in the “blue oval” range there is the infernal Raptor R with a V8 engine for 110 thousand dollars, that is, the potential successor to the TRX has a margin in price.
