At least for now. The fact is that Rossa (stands for “Russian sports cars”) debuted as a concept car, and it has a long way to go to reach a series, albeit a small one. The project is led by Russian racer Roman Rusinov, winner of the European and Asian Le Mans Series and the World Endurance Championship. And the supercar was designed by Igor Ermilin, who in the past was the designer of Marussia, which is why Rossa is called the heir of this brand and even “Marussia 2”.

The Rossa premiered in Moscow as part of the Auto.ru “New of the Year” event. The concept is a rear-wheel drive supercar with a mid-mounted engine. The car is built around a carbon fiber monocoque, the outer panels are also made of carbon fiber, and the aerodynamic body kit is made in accordance with the regulations for GT2/GT3 class cars. As for the dimensions, the Rossa turned out to be longer and wider than the Marussia.

The concept is a running prototype that has already traveled 9.5 thousand kilometers. It is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine – its origins were not mentioned during the presentation for obvious reasons, but it is known that this is the same engine as the Lamborghini Huracan. It develops 680 horsepower and provides the supercar with acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds. The stated maximum speed is 380 kilometers per hour.

The prototype has a robotic gearbox, but the future “combat” vehicle will have a different transmission and a different engine – a Judd V10 with 800 horsepower, which was used on LMP1 class prototypes in the 2000s and early 2010s. It weighs 140 kilograms, that is, a hundred less than the current unit. Accordingly, the dynamic characteristics will differ.

It is expected that the racing Rossa will be ready in 2024-2025, but a car certified for public roads will have to wait until at least 2026. The estimated price of the supercar is 500 thousand euros (more than 48 million rubles at today’s exchange rate).
