Information about this appeared on the website of the Volvo car owners club: they write that the VIDA dealer program and the Volvo On Call mobile service (Volvo Cars application) stopped working on September 25. However, there has been no official message about this yet, including on the Russian Volvo website. The latter is functioning, however, with a note that cars of the brand are not available for order and deliveries to Russia are not carried out.

Auto.ru, citing Volvo dealers, reports that they have already encountered at least one problem – it is impossible to reprogram the keys of new cars. This applies only to cars of new generations, but with older cars that require connection to the Network and remote bases, everything is much simpler. Unofficial dealers have worked in the past, partially using alternative channels and methods. Apparently, the “officials” will also have to resort to them in the future.

As for the Volvo Cars mobile application, according to owners, its latest version does not work and certain functions are malfunctioning on a number of devices. This application allows you to remotely monitor the status of the car, in particular the battery charge level on hybrids and electric cars or the fuel level in the tank on cars with internal combustion engines, control the temperature in the cabin, and remotely unlock and lock the door locks.

There are no messages on the Volvo Cars website that there may be problems with the application. There is still a QR code for downloading the program in the App Store and Google Play, but when you try to install it, a notification pops up stating that “the application is not available in your country or region.”

Previously, in Russia access to service departments of brands belonging to the Volkswagen group – Audi, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley and others – was limited. BMW and Mercedes-Benz also cut Russia off from the software.
