This follows from an eight-minute documentary from 73Online, which was published on the UAZ Today telegram channel. The Pro will be the first in the entire line of the Ulyanovsk plant to acquire a version with a JAC turbodiesel, and the next in line will be the Patriot. JAC engines are produced in Russia at Sollers facilities in Yelabuga: 2.0 and 2.7 liter diesel engines are assembled there.

The fact that JAC is expanding its partnership with Russian automakers became known at the beginning of this year. The Chinese company has already helped restart the Moskvich plant, where the assembly of three models has been established, as well as an enterprise in Yelabuga, where they organized the production of JAC commercial vehicles under the Sollers brand. In June, Sollers received a loan of 1.7 billion rubles for a project to localize JAC diesel engines, and in July they launched their production in Tatarstan – the site in Yelabuga is designed to produce up to 50 thousand units per year.

Localized diesel engines of 2.0 and 2.7 liters are already installed on Sollers Argo and Atlant. And soon UAZs will also receive them, the first of which will be Profi – according to the leading design engineer at Sollers Engineering, the engine is being adapted for installation on this model.

Both Russian-assembled JAC units comply with Euro-6 environmental standards. The output of the two-liter engine is 130 horsepower and 288 Nm of torque, and the 2.7-liter is 150 horsepower and 355 Nm.
