The first hybrid car will appear in the AvtoVAZ model range, which will also receive all-wheel drive. This was reported by the Autopotok Telegram channel, citing company representative Alexander Vinogradov. He shared this information at the Autonet conference. It is noted that torque will be transmitted to the rear axle from the electric motor, and to the front axle from the internal combustion engine.

Vinogradov notes that hybrid technologies are still more promising than electric vehicles. Thus, the company intends to rely on the development of just such cars. Currently, the car plant has already begun creating a car with a hybrid engine, but it has not yet been announced when exactly a car with this type of power plant will appear. It is also not known for certain whether this will be a completely new model or a modification of an already known car.

By the way, a rechargeable hybrid has already been developed by the company – in October 2014. It was based on “Grant”, but then it never went into production, since the project was not planned to be developed further. The hybrid was based on a 160-horsepower turbo engine, and efficiency was 21% higher compared to the gasoline Granta. As for the future of such cars, the decision to launch cars into series will be based on current market conditions and the marketing strategy of the AvtoVAZ company itself (photo: Lada).
