If the driver begins to notice that the car has become difficult to start, there is a high probability of problems in the fuel system. Often the cause is the presence of water in the gas tank. Andrey Borisov, representing the service and spare parts department at Avilon Geely, told how it gets there and how it can be removed to restore the system’s functionality.

According to Borisov, the most common reason for water getting into the gas tank is the use of low-quality fuel. At the same time, moisture can penetrate into it both during transportation and if the rules for cleaning tanks at gas stations are violated. The expert recommends buying fuel only at trusted gas stations that do everything to maintain their reputation.

Water in the gas tank changes the quality of the fuel for the worse, so to restore the system you need to contact a service center to remove it. Specialists will flush the entire fuel system and, if necessary, completely drain the tank. The latter is usually necessary if there is too much moisture in it.

In addition, service station workers will check the entire system and fix any problems, if any. The owner can independently carry out preventive measures by pouring special additives into the car tank that will counteract the appearance of condensation, as well as separate water from the fuel, improving its combustion.
