The electric models will be called GT1e and DMC-EV and will be equipped with four-motor power plants. The first will be based on the chassis of the first generation Ford GT racing, the second – the original DMC-12 from 1981-1983. The electric cars will be released in a small series, and their buyers will be offered a number of privileges and access to a concierge service. It is not yet known how much the cars will cost.

Lynx Motors, based in Austin, Texas, has decided to bring back two historic models: the first-generation Ford GT and the iconic DeLorean DMC-12. Both will be revived in the form of electric mods and released in small quantities. To build the GT1e coupe, several chassis from the 2005 Ford GT racing cars were purchased from the Swiss Matech Concepts, as well as body panel molds. The characteristics of the electric car are promised to be impressive: four electric motors, all-wheel drive and acceleration to 97 kilometers per hour in one and a half seconds with a top speed of more than 515 kilometers per hour.

The total output of the electric motors in the GT1e will allegedly exceed 2,400 horsepower, and the current source for them will be an Amprius aircraft battery with a capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours. The estimated range on one charge is 402 kilometers. The electric mod will be equipped with a NACS (North American Charging Standard) connector, all-LED optics, a roll cage, traction control, as well as a digital instrument panel and a multimedia touch screen. The Lynx GT1e will be limited to only 27 units, but there are no prices or production start dates yet.

The electric Lynx DMC-EV, in turn, will be based on the original DeLorean DMC-12 from 1981-1983. They will have their exterior and interior redesigned (Doc and Marty never dreamed of this), and the standard engine will be replaced with a setup with four Elaphe in-wheel motors and a CATL battery with a capacity of 70 kilowatt-hours. Electric cars will be able to accelerate to 97 kilometers per hour in four seconds and travel the same 400 kilometers without recharging as the GT1e. In total, Lynx plans to build a hundred of these machines.
